To the Editor:
I receive regularly the herald from you and I can’t keep from reading it (though it is in English and with a lot of words, and I hate reading). I love very much the "bleep".
Just to tell you my background, I'm 51 years old (raised in Argentina till 11 by the TV, Walt Disney, Charly Chaplin, the Beatles and so on). I love the whole culture they bring to life. I immigrated to Israel with my family and live here 40 years.I feel much connected to American society because of the TV (even though I'm an Israeli). I found in this article of Betsy Chasse conceptions I'm dealing with for years, such as:
It’s like the chicken and the egg. Yes, of course there are violent and corrupt aspects to our society. And of course the media should not ignore these things. But if the media keeps holding up a mirror that society is corrupt, indecent, angry, and manipulative and nothing else, this is what we start to believe about ourselves.
That is right – your deed is importantto show me (a nobody person, living in a nobody place) that I'm not alone. That there are people around the world who thinks the same and believe in things that only by believing in my insight conversation about life I can still survive this impossible country.
And what boredom that you meet only people, that are good, sincere people trying to do and be their best and get through life as happily as possible. They’re not blatantly angry, they’re not sarcastic, they don’t thrive on controversy – they want peace, and happiness, and self-respect and to get along with others.
I also meet people like that. Is it a coincidence or there is a common denominator to it? … What I'm thinking lately about that we are all human beings (no matter anything we think) and yes, we want to be right!! What a stupid notion. We are all right and wrong for we are human beings.
And well, it is time, we all receive this idea as soon as possible, for our childrens sake (though, as I know it, I have three kids, one of 20 and twins of 10) that they will do it without asking me. So, what I'm doing is considering my life as part of my kid's life and talking future and not past.
I notice that human beings (mostly men) find it hard to say good bye and farewell to bad habits. It is time for us (women) to show their strength. I'm glad you made bleep movement; it makes me feel alive and relevant to my life.
Thanks
