“One had to learn the new description in a total sense, for the purpose of pitting it against the old one, and in that way break the dogmatic certainty, which we all share, that the validity of our perceptions, or our reality of the world, is not to be questioned.”

One cannot learn the way of the warrior or the sorcerer without knowing how to “see” the world differently. In a way, it’s a lot like math. You can’t learn fractions until you understand division. Just like some of us have a tough time with math, so Carlos has a tough time with “seeing.”

There is no better partner to go on this journey with than Carlos Castaneda, because at times you will find yourself thinking, “Well if he can do it, I can do it!
