Thoughtful commentaries
... occasional rants
By Betsy Chasse
It’s that time again! I’ve just returned from the “BLEEP” conference in Portland . It’s always fun to meet new people and to hear about how their lives have been changed by the film. One of my favorite things is to hear other people’s stories about how gaining new self-knowledge produces such great changes. It really helps me on my own path! As many of you know, when I started this film I didn’t even know how to spell quantum physics, and the only addiction I thought I had was for shoes! Hearing from you about your understandings and your stories is a gift.
Thanks to all of you who responded to my last “rant.” Many of you appreciated my call to start a revolution within yourself. I received so many emails about the amazing things people do in their own lives to affect change within themselves and by doing so, affect change in the outside world. It’s amazing what happens when you realize it’s as simple as changing your mind. Click here for more
And the winner of the free 3-day pass to a Prophets Conference is ….
The old saying “what goes around, comes around” got plenty of verification last month when Brooks Friedland, a mortgage financier from Newcastle, WA , decided to purchase a DVD of What the Bleep Do We Know?! for close friend, Alan White, former drummer for the rock band Yes!
Little did he expect that buying the DVD from The Merchandizing Co. would be rewarded with the $375 prize of a free 3-day Prophets Conference pass. “It was for his birthday,” says Friedland. “We saw the movie together and in the middle of it he turned to me and asked, ‘So, how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?’ I thought it’d be a birthday gift he’d appreciate.”
Brooks Friedland
Friedland, says he is “delighted” with the prospects of attending one of the remaining conferences. The only question is which one? “I’m trying to see about going to Portland. But it may end up being Vancouver, instead.”

Science outside the box
by Cate Montana
“Innovative science” sounds good in brochures, business prospectuses and annual reports. But the phrase usually comes with tag lines like “reliance on proven programs and projects,” or “partnering with governmental, corporate and other non-profit agencies.”
It’s not that innovative science doesn’t happen in mainstream laboratories. It does. Passion, dedication and painstaking experimental techniques sometimes yield startling results. But startling is not what mainstream is usually looking for.

Take the experience of Candace Pert, Ph.D. While working at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) near Washington D.C. in the 1980s, she discovered a way to block the AIDS virus from binding to a cell’s receptor sites and entering the cell…

Vancouver - Canada's #1 What The Bleep Audience - Inspires Conference

What the BLEEP Do We Know?! was so warmly received in Vancouver, BC, we decided to come back and do a conference!
We are very excited to be coming to the Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby, BC, right outside of the beautiful city of Vancouver this coming August. Joining us is a young man we are so happy to meet and welcome to the conversation – a man who is carrying on a “normal life” as a college student while filling up healing workshops to overflowing crowds.
