In this issue we’re talking a lot about peace and some novel and mostly untried ways of bringing it about. I am reminded constantly of Gandhi’s statement “Be the change you want to see in the world”. For many this is an elusive idea. The notion that somehow me changing, is going to effect the rest of reality seems – well… like a sweet idea. Most of us, when we first acknowledge that there is a problem in the world, want to do something about it. We spend all our moments trying to come up with ways to make the world a better place. Eventually this transforms into an obsession and becomes a beautiful way to completely ignore our own ‘stuff’. We eventually see ‘out there’, all the problems that we tend not to want to look at, ‘in here’.

For us filmmakers, one of the remarkable things about science is, it makes concrete so many of these ideas. So, is it possible that what I think has a ripple effect, everywhere?

Betsy mentioned in the last issue of the Herald that Will and I had visited with Dean Radin at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. We had an extraordinary time checking out Dr. Radin's work. Dean has done extensive work on the idea of Human Entanglement. His new, soon to released book is entitled: “ENTANGLED MINDS: Extrasensory experiences in a quantum reality.” His Lab experiments have clearly shown that there is a non-local connection occurring between human beings when we ‘think’ of each other.

Illustrating this example Dean hooked Will and I up two different computers measuring 8 different kinds of readings. Things like respiration, temperature, heart rate, EEG, electro dermal activity etc. He then separated us by putting Will in a lead-lined room, which was basically a Faraday Cage.

I was then placed in another room, in another building, and just to make sure we couldn’t hear each other he blew a 110-db foghorn in between the rooms to see if we could hear anything. We couldn’t. (The fire department, miles away, has responded to this test thinking it is a fire alarm. That’s how loud it is.)

Will was instructed to just relax in a chair and a video signal of his image was fed to a monitor in the darkened room, in which I sat. Then a computer ran a 30 min randomized test. My television monitor was mostly black, but at random intervals Will’s image would pop onto the screen. Dean instructed me previously that when this happened, I was to attempt to ‘communicate’ with Will. After 30 minutes, when the experiment was over, the computers stared crunching the numbers and comparing our Bio readings. The results were fantastic! The peaks and troughs of our readings over a 30-minute time period matched perfectly. Which basically means that the act of my focusing on Will created spikes in my readings. But the amazing part is at the same time it created spikes in Will’s readings. Some part of him, knew I was watching him.

Two things really stand out for me. One was, that Will responded to me 2 seconds before his image was flashed to me, and also that he become very relaxed when he unconsciously ‘felt’ me watching.

This indicates to us that we were entangled during this experiment. Does that mean we’re only entangled in the Lab? NO. We’re always entangled. The very act of thinking about someone registers in his or her body. And what we think might register differently in them, based on our intent. So I thought about this for a while and realized that the way I ‘do’ the world affects everyone in my reality. My particular way of being, my consciousness, my state of mind, is felt by all the people that I am in contact with. Physically and/or thoughtfully.

So now Gandhi’s statement is making more sense. Why should we be the change we want to see? Because we are entangled with everyone (six degrees of separation) and who we are ‘matters’ to everyone else. This is how I finally realized peace might come about. First I have to eat, sleep and breathe the idea without denial or fear of addressing my limitations. Then, as the lab machinery suggests, that affects other people.

Thank You to everyone for your continued support of the work we are doing. The revolution is underway! We are bringing thinking back! As a reminder to all, the film opens in Mexico starting August the 5 th. Remember to tell everyone you know there, to check it out.

You now have your mission parameters for peace building.

Go for it!
