Movie: Title: What the #$*! Do We
Know? Documentary Producer: William Arntz, Betsy Chasse and
Mark Vicente WhattheBleep.com
Form definitely fits content in this much-anticipated film about
the ever-baffling nature of reality and the necessity (to
humankind's survival and evolution) of venturing outside the box,
especially with our thoughts. The film presents mind-blowing facts,
which many of us have heard by now. The key, however, is to
believing, internalizing them to the degree that the paradigm, which
Quantum research demonstrates that only our thoughts solidify as
"reality," naturally gives way to a truer, though less concrete,
quality of existence.
What the #$*! should be required viewing for every
post-adolescent on the planet, more than once at first and then
yearly. It is an informative, accessible, inspiring and highly
entertaining romp through the basics of Quantum Physics, human
nature and spirituality, which, the film makes clear, cannot be
separated. We must do all we can to support this film's find wide
distribution and exposure in the mainstream. I can certainly do no
better than the film in encapsulating what it conveys.
Using a brilliant blend of narrative, scientific commentary and
animation, What the #$*! is almost simultaneously enlightening,
poignant, and riotously funny. Perhaps unexpectedly, the most
ponderous moments are not in the refreshingly warm and irreverent
scientific commentary, but in the narrative. The animation comes in
and saves the day with injections of wonder and hilarity.
Since it is human nature to follow drama and emotion, sometimes
the narrative (starring Marlee Matlin) distracts from the
commentary. However the story is an valuable and engaging tool to
illustrate the concepts articulated by some of the foremost
scientists and philosophers of our day: authors and thinkers who
have come from different fields to meet in these fundamental Truths.
The film addresses all the biggies: Reality, God, Emotion, Sex,
Addiction, Love, etc.
