| Your
lights are on, but you're not home
Your will is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body
shakes...
Might as well face it, you're
addicted to love...
These lyrics from Robert Palmer's
1985 hit music video, Addicted to Love, are cleverly parodied
in the film, What the Bleep Do We Know!?, which arrived at
long last in local theatres Feb. 11.
Director William Arntz's 2004 film
about possibilities will play for a minimum of one week at the Regal
Hollywood 20 in Naples (telephone 597-4252).
The one hour 51 minute unrated movie
is an ingenious blend of a drama starring Academy Award winner
Marlee Matlin, eye-catching animation, and entertaining interviews
with scientists and mystics. Considered spiritual by some and
art/comedy/drama/sci-fi-fantasy by others, the film became a
phenomenon last year when it was propelled across country virtually
by word of mouth alone, spawning a book and conference in its
wake.
What the bleep do we know!? A
lot more after seeing this film. Whether seen at the theater or on
the $20 DVD (see Web site http://www.whatthebleep.com), What the
Bleep should not be missed.
