Dear friends, I have just finished previewing an extraordinary new film called "What the $#*! Do We Know?" and I can 12t find enough superlatives to convey what an amazing experience it is. The film has humor, drama, sex, spirituality, and most of all it probes deeply and intelligently into the most basic existential questions of life and the universe. It brings together a combination of fine actors and superb scientists and thinkers presenting with wisdom and clarity the most challenging and complex ideas at the forefront of science and spirituality. It was filmed here in Portland by local Filmmakers William Arntz, Betsy Chasse, and Mark Vicente. They previewed this original film at the Yelm Cinemas in Yelm, Washington on the February 6 weekend for sell-out shows. Over 1200 people saw the film with its cutting-edge special affects, award-winning actors, a powerful rock score, and a bold leap into the realm of quantum physics as applied to real life. The film, starring Marlee Matlin, is continuing to outsell "Lord of the Rings," "Miracle," and all other current films. This is a testament both to the excellence of the film and the great thirst we have for movies of substance; movies that make you think.
